We are having a very creative morning in Year 2 using different materials and techniques to recreate 1666 London on fire!
Watch our superb recital of the Great Fire of London poem we have been using in our English lessons, ‘A Tiny, Burning Flame’.
We hope you enjoy our performance!
Year 2 have had a fantastic day learning all about Spain! We have learnt where to find Spain on a map and globe and how to get to Spain from the UK. The children now know that the capital city of Spain is Madrid and they have learnt all about Spanish food, the Spanish climate and also the names and features of some very famous Spanish landmarks such as the Plaza de Espana! What a brilliant day we have had learning all about Spain!
We’ve had a very creative afternoon creating our own Spanish castanets and fans! We used our dance apparatus during our flamenco lesson – so much fun!
Year 2 have loved learning some traditional flamenco dance moves this afternoon! Look out for our next post that includes the children making and using their own castanets and fans ~ Ole!
Some of the children in Year 2 have had a little sample of some Spanish food this morning! For most, the Spanish Tortillas went down a treat!
Spanish tortillas are a deep omelette containing sliced potatoes and a little onion – delicious!
Year 2 have loved learning to count to 10 in Spanish this morning!
Bien hecho children!
