Football Winners!

Easy Blog Photo
A huge congratulations to the Year 3/4 football team who attended a tournament at the Crescent Academy in Meir this afternoon and were victorious! The boys played 3 games against Crescent, Stoke Minster and Weston Coyney schools, winning 2 and losing the other. But with a fantastic goal difference of +7 over the three games, we did enough to secure victory and book our place in the finals of the tournament that will happen in May next year. The boys all played fantastically, and were impeccable role models for our school all afternoon. Mr Hunt was very proud of all of their efforts – World Cup winners of the future no doubt!

Year 5 Make Bread

Easy Blog Photo
We’ve had such a lovely morning baking our own bread. We learnt all about the ingredients and steps involved in bread making as well as working with the dough to make different shapes. Thank you so much to Dawn and Jo from City Catering who came in to share their expertise with the children.

Year 5 Research Bread Making

Easy Blog Photo
In preparation for our bread making, Year 5 investigated what makes bread rise. We found that with the right conditions, yeast will produce a gas: Carbon dioxide. This is what makes your bread nice and soft. Tomorrow, with some help from City Catering, we will be finding out how to make a simple loaf and working with some dough.

Viking Projects

Well done to all of the children in Year 5 who have brought in their projects. We’ve had some amazing shields, axes, ships… Some children preferred to write while others made models or made a PowerPoint. Thank you so much to all parents/carers who helped with sawing, drilling, cutting etc.
