Ladybirds have started their reception journey brilliantly.
Everyone has beaming smiles and eager to investigate around the classroom. From painting to building, listening to dancing we have had so much fun in just two days!

Dinosaurs
This week ladybirds focused on dinosaurs, looking at the work of Mary Anning and equipment used to find fossils. There have been some great 2D shape work and sculpting from play-doh.
Well done everyone 😀🦕👍
On The Farm
This week ladybirds have been looking at farm animals and food grown by farmers.
We started a vegetable regrowing experiment and predicted what might happen.
There has also been addition using the part, part, whole model and position describing.
Altogether busy week, well done everyone, I’m very proud of you. 😁 👏🏼
Are We There Yet?
Ladybirds week began with a story ‘The Journey Home from Grandpa’s’ by Jemima Lumley. We then counted how many different types of transport we saw and picked five to draw and colour.
We looked at hot air balloons, then designed our own and where we would like to go in it.
Finally story sequencing ‘The Train Ride’ by June Crebbin.
Well done everyone for all your amazing work this week, it’s fantastic.
Pirate Ladybirds
Ladybirds have had another very busy week, it’s been all about pirates! 🏴☠️
After finding treasure it was shared ‘equally’ and materials tested for the best boat.
Well done everyone for your super work this week.
Under The Ocean
Ladybird’s week began with ‘Commotion in the Ocean’ by Giles Andreas and we drew all the sea creatures we saw throughout the book. Thinking about pollution and recycling to keep the oceans clean, we made turtles from recyclable materials. Submarines and doubling numbers finished the week.
Super work again, well done 👍
