We have been super impressed with everyone’s work in Year One today! The children have written some fabulous sentences to create a super ‘Wanted’ poster and if you look closely at their sentences, you might even spot some amazing adjectives! Not only have the children been busy making ‘Wanted’ posters, they have also made a tens frame and learned how to add mentally using their number bonds to ten! In History, we have looked at timelines and thought about how timelines show chronological order and the children have made excellent timelines showing some important events in their lives!
A massive WELL DONE to the Year One children and a great big THANK YOU to the Year One parents!
In Year One, we have lots of super scientists who have been learning all about the different animal groups. Yesterday we learned about reptiles and amphibians and we wanted to share some of our super Science with you!
A massive well done to Year Six who have finished fourth in Stoke-on-Trent’s Top of the Rocks competition, scoring an amazing 261, 361 points! We are all really proud of you Year Six because we can see how you have all worked together as a team to earn your place in the Top Ten!
A second congratulations is needed for Jack in Mrs Hassall’s class who came 3rd overall! This is an incredible achievement as there were nearly 50 schools entered across Stoke-on-Trent! You have worked super hard to earn this Jack and we are all really proud of you!
Today we have been learning that not everything we read on the internet is true! We know that the ‘R’ in our SMART rules stands for reliable and that means if something is trustworthy or not. We learned how to tell if information on a website can be trusted and we made posters to tell other children how to judge the reliability of websites too. We also read some information booklets and decided which information was true and which was false then made some leaflets of our own….Be warned though some facts are trying to trick you! On Purple Mash, we made block graphs to show how different people in our house use the internet.
Well done to everyone in Year Six who has been playing TT Rockstars to help keep Sandford Hill in the Top 10. There are 6 hours left in the competition and we are currently in fourth place…Keep going Year Six! Let’s work as a team now and see if we can make the top three!
Today Year One have learned how to tell if an animal is a mammal or a bird. I am sure that there are some super smart Year One scientists who will reply to this post to teach you how to tell if an animal is a bird or a mammal too!
Here is some of our super Science work from today:
Well done to all the Year Six pupils who are helping Sandford Hill in the Stoke-on-Trent competition! They are starting the day in third place which is amazing as there are about 50 schools in Stoke-on-Trent taking part! Keep playing and earning points Year Six and don’t forget to play at the weekend too!
Well done to our Year Six pupils who are starting the second day of our Top of the Rocks competition in fourth place! This is an amazing team effort so please keep up your super hard work. A special congratulations to Jack in Mrs Hassall’s class who is currently in fourth place out of all the Year 6 pupils in Stoke-on-Trent! I wonder if any more children will join Jack in the Top 10?
We have been so impressed with Year One’s weather watch. Lots of you have drawn pictures to show what the weather is like and even used the internet to find out the temperatures! I think some of these weather charts could make the real Weather Channel! I hope your weather can bring us some blue skies soon!
