This half term the children in Year 1 have been learning all about the talented artist Edward Saidi Tingatinga. Tinga Tinga art is well known for it’s bright and bold colourful backgrounds and repeating pattern animals. I think you will agree that we have some fine artists in Year 1! Here are just a few examples.
Brilliant work from Year 4 today where they have had to find contrasts (differences) between two locations in France – Provence and Alp regions.
Year 5 have enjoyed sharing their favourite books this week as we have celebrated National Story Telling Week. As we continue to read Kensuke’s Kingdom, we designed a new front cover for the book. After reading The Bear and the Piano and listening to the accompanying music, we shared how it made us feel, our musical inspirations and our dreams. Some fantastic contributions again Year 5.
Well done to all the Year Six pupils who are helping Sandford Hill in the Stoke-on-Trent competition! They are starting the day in third place which is amazing as there are about 50 schools in Stoke-on-Trent taking part! Keep playing and earning points Year Six and don’t forget to play at the weekend too!
Year 2 have been busy once again over the past few days. We have received lots of fantastic photographs, videos and documents showing just how hard everyone is working in their lessons! We absolutely love receiving your work and seeing the brilliant progress you are all making in Maths and Phonics, the enjoyment and creativity you are showing in this week’s English storytelling activities and the tremendous investigation work you have been up to in your Science lessons!
Here is a selection of work from over the past few days. Keep it up Year 2. You are all amazing!
Here is some amazing work from Year 4 this week. We have looked at the importance of healthy, balanced lifestyles, number lines and reading scales in maths, The Jabberwocky poem in English, The Lion King in music, sound and pitch in science and we’ve started to learn about the Easter story in RE. We have had some fantastic examples of work that the children should be really proud of. Keep it up Year 4!
Well done to our Year Six pupils who are starting the second day of our Top of the Rocks competition in fourth place! This is an amazing team effort so please keep up your super hard work. A special congratulations to Jack in Mrs Hassall’s class who is currently in fourth place out of all the Year 6 pupils in Stoke-on-Trent! I wonder if any more children will join Jack in the Top 10?
Well done to all the Year 6 children who have started the day helping Sandford Hill in the Timetable Rockstar competition. Two hours into the competition and we are in 6th place which is amazing! However, it could all change so please keep playing to keep Sandford Hill in the Top 10! You can play any game that scores points betweens 7am and 7pm to contribute to our school’s score! Good Luck Year 6!
Year 1/2 are fully enjoying National Story Telling Week this week. Today in our live morning session the children brought along their favourite story to share with the class. Here is a picture of some of the stories that were chosen. What super star readers we have!
We have been so impressed with Year One’s weather watch. Lots of you have drawn pictures to show what the weather is like and even used the internet to find out the temperatures! I think some of these weather charts could make the real Weather Channel! I hope your weather can bring us some blue skies soon!
