UnBEARlievable Sewing in Y6

The children in Y6 have worked incredibly hard over the past week to design and create their very own teddy bears. As part of learning about WW2 and clothes rationing, the children discussed the importance of being able to ‘make do and mend’. From old t-shirts, the children have created some fabulous bears and developed their sewing skills through using running stitch, back stitch, blanket stick and applique patches. We’re sure you’ll agree that their creations are fantastic.

Well done, Year 6. I’m sure that you are all really proud of your bears. Not only am I impressed with your sewing skills but I’m also impressed that you’ve used old clothes to make your bears from.
