Stone Age Pottery!

In the Spring Term, we have been learning all about the Stone Age! As part of our topic, we have visited Hanley Pottery Museum where the children were able to look at real artefacts from the Stone Age!

We have created our very own Stone Age pots using clay and other natural materials! The children are all really excited to bring their pots home tomorrow and already have many ideas for how they intend to use them!

Thank you for a lovely morning Year Three!

What a fantastic morning we had, you all showed thoughtfulness and respect when listening carefully to the instructions on how to make your pots. Some wonderful ideas shared on what people in the Stone Age used their pots for. Your pots and designs were amazing and I do have a couple of spaces on my mantelpiece for a nice new pot!

Charlotte’s pot is fantastic. She told me that she had to decorate it using twigs as plastic tools did not exist back in the Stone Age.

I’m certainly pleased to hear that you all enjoyed your visit to The Potteries Museum & Art Gallery this week. We were all very impressed how well behaved and polite you are at Sandford Hill. I had a fab two days with Year 3 and Year 4 – doing a bit of time-travelling! Your Stone Age Pots are amazing – keep up the good work! 🙂 From Lisa at The Potteries Museum & Art Gallery
