World Book Day In French

Easy Blog Photo
Years 4, 5 and 6 have been celebrating World Book Day this week in French. We have read two French children’s books. Year 4 enjoyed ‘le loup qui voulait changer de couleur’. We then created our own class version. Years 5 and 6 read ‘tu lis ou?’, a book all about different places to read. Year 6 did some fantastic writing about where they like to read and their favourite authors and books. Fantastique!

What fabulous work everyone- and it goes to show, no matter which language we might speak, there’s an amazing book for everyone.
By the way, one of my favourite authors is actually French. His name is Jules Verne and one of his most well known books is called “Journey To The Centre Of The Earth”. You’ll have to excuse me though, I don’t know what the French words are for this…I’ll have to have a word with Mrs Twynham!

Well done children! It looks like you enjoyed reading the French books.
I remember reading a book in French when I was at school – it was called ‘Le Petit Chaperon Rouge’ I wonder if anyone can translate the title and guess the book?

Lovely to read (and see the photographs) that the Year 4 children enjoyed the book, ‘le loup qui voulait changer de couleur’. Remember boys and girls to be happy with who you are and not to worry by comparing yourself with others. How many colours and days of the week, in French, can you remember?
