Google Expedition

The children in Key Stage 2 were ‘explorers’ this morning as they discovered the wonders of the world and historical landmarks via virtual reality. The Google expedition allowed the children to dive underwater with sharks, visit outer space and even climb Mount Everest! I’ve got a feeling Google Expeditions may be added to lots of Christmas present lists!

Which was your favourite expedition?

Finnley thought this was amazing, he really thought he was falling from a volcano…. He now wants one for Christmas. He loved telling me all about it. 🙂

    What an amazing activity.
Throughout the morning, there were lots of screams and excited children.
Everybody, including me, was completely engaged as we discovered the wonders of world on our expedition. I had a great time visiting Brazil, hovering above Corcovado Mountain looking down on the statue of Christ the Redeemer before travelling on to view the famous Maracana Stadium. Thank you to Sam Ostrouchow, a former pupil, who gave me the Google contact and also to Miss Hodgson for arranging this fabulous experience.

Ellie thought it was amazing. She said they were very realistic, especially the underwater one in a cage. She loved the space and mountain experience.

I had a great time! The best bit was under the sea, I thought the shark was going to eat me!! Great day at school!!

I know how much the children enjoyed this. As I was in the office, I could hear the buzz of excitement! The virtual reality really captured the children’s imagination!
